Around 45 prominent Indian companies engaged in the food & hospitality sectors will be participating in the 4th edition of ‘Hospitality Qatar 2019’ exhibition organised by IFP Qatar from November 12 to 14 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The Indian pavilion is coordinated by the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) in partnership with the Embassy of India, Doha.
TPCI is an apex trade and investment body recognized and supported by the Department of Commerce, Government of India, which work towards facilitating the growth of Indian industry with global investment & trade opportunities. The Council provides strategies for expanding business internationally, by organizing specialized business events. The Indian pavilion will be inaugurated by Ambassador of India, P Kumaran.
The TPCI delegation will be exhibiting their Food & Beverage (F&B) products during the Exhibition in the following categories – rice, pulses, confectionery, grocery, dehydrated vegetables, Indian ethnic products, packaging machines & materials and linen for the hospitality Industry.
In the 2018 edition, the Indian pavilion comprised 20 companies. The increase in participation from India at Hospitality Qatar 2019 reflects the growing interest of business communities of both the countries to promote trade and commerce in this sector.
India-Qatar bilateral trade has been growing steadily especially in the F&B sector. Indian exports of F&B to Qatar were US$364.76m in 2018 and were US$ 134.4m form April to August 2019.
The top ten food and beverages products exported from India to Qatar include rice, vegetables, poultry and meat, dry fruits, mango pulp, milk products, snacks, seafood, fruits and pickles. The volume and value of Indian export of these items is likely to increase in the years to come.
